About Joel Plotch
I have been editing feature films for the last thirty years. Included in the 50+ films that I have edited is an ongoing collaboration with award-winning director and writer Neil LaBute that includes such films as “In the Company of Men,” “Your Friends and Neighbors,” “Nurse Betty,” “The Shape of Things,” “Wicker Man,” “Lakeview Terrace,” and “Dirty Weekend.” Additionally, I have edited and produced numerous feature documentaries, episodic television, commercials and music videos, and have won numerous awards throughout my career. Most recently I edited 3 seasons of Showtime’s Billions. I also directed the award winning short film, Heavy Put-Away that I adapted from a Terry Southern short story (Easy Rider, Dr. Strangelove) starring Gretchen Mol, Dallas Roberts and Mark Boone Jr. My first full-length feature screenplay, Ocean Beach, was on The Black List – a compendium of the best screenplays of the year.
As an avocation, I have been engaged with photography my entire adult life. Since moving to Paris in 2012, I’ve devoted a large part of my free time to creating images inspired by my surroundings in Paris and the European continent as well as the United States.
